In 2017, Rosalie, then a young pig, escaped from a truck on its way to the slaughterhouse. Despite being injured, she was rescued by kind-hearted people. After staying in a stable, she grew too big for her foster family and needed a new home. After months of searching and with the promise of a monthly sponsorship, Domaine Fraser agreed to take her in.
Since then, Rosalie has become an integral part of the Domaine family, playing an educational role by raising awareness among visitors about pigs' natural needs. She spends summers in a large outdoor enclosure, complete with a mud spa, and winters in a heated stable where she enjoys the company of other animals. However, the planned sponsorship was not maintained.

One evening in October 2019, Snickers, a goat abandoned at the Domaine’s gate, was discovered by Sandra and Jürg. Tied up, trembling with fear, and missing his front left leg, he seemed frozen but was otherwise in good health. With careful attention, he quickly became part of the family and has now formed a strong friendship with Rocky, another goat.
Despite his disability, Snickers embodies resilience and raises awareness about a risky practice: housing goats with horses, which often leads to serious injuries! Over time, he may need a prosthetic leg, and donations are essential to support Snickers and the refuge’s mission.

Following a distress call from a friend seeking to save horses deemed unprofitable by a racetrack and destined for the slaughterhouse, Sandra and Jürg made the decision to rescue two horses, Aramis and Lexie.
Aramis, a young 3-year-old gelding, suffered a severe leg injury, but with patience and care, he recovered and became a great trail horse. Lexie, a 5-year-old mare, had serious health issues due to her racing career, but she was rehabilitated and adopted by a German volunteer.
Today, Aramis lives peacefully at Domaine Fraser, while Lexie enjoys a well-deserved retirement.

Everest, a four-year-old llama/alpaca hybrid, is gentle and friendly. She is an excellent ambassador for her species and never misses an opportunity to greet or cuddle visitors at Domaine Fraser.
Unfortunately, Everest suffers from a disease affecting ruminants called “lumpy jaw.” While the condition has progressed too far for surgical intervention, she can still enjoy a good quality of life with a specialized diet and medication to help manage her pain.
